Clinical Psychology
Training Objectives
The training in Clinical Psychology aims to deepen students’ academic and theoretical knowledge about the concept of personality in both “normal” and “disordered” states, considering its various dimensions: cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and social. This is achieved through an integrated and analytical examination of personality using theoretical approaches such as psychoanalytic, behavioral, cognitive, and humanistic perspectives. The training also aims to enable students to practice various techniques of psychological examination, control their procedures, and utilize diagnostic methods based on different screening approaches, whether projective or objective, within the social and cultural context of the individuals being assessed. Additionally, students are trained in conducting scientific research using clinical methodologies and providing suggestions for intervention in specific cases. Furthermore, this field may uncover issues that can serve as research topics for master’s and doctoral studies within laboratories or research units.
