Training Objectives
The Master’s Degree in General Linguistics is an academic program aimed at preparing students for further studies at the third stage (Ph.D. level) in the field of general and applied linguistic studies. This degree falls within the domain of linguistic studies. The objective of this specialization is to provide students with knowledge and skills in general and applied linguistics, as well as other related sciences such as education, psycholinguistics, and computational linguistics. The program aims to adapt their knowledge to the developments in the Algerian linguistic environment and to enhance their abilities in producing texts, writing, and editing for social and cultural communication. It also focuses on the ability to engage in computational linguistics, organization, and machine translation. Moreover, it aims to develop their capacity to establish their own institutions for investment in the field of specialization, particularly in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, curriculum development, and special needs education. It also encourages the exploration of underappreciated areas and promotes openness to the socio-economic space. The program culminates with the preparation of a graduation thesis, where students acquire knowledge of scientific research methodology and proficiency in scientific terminology and various knowledge domains.
