Training Objectives
The Master’s Degree in Modern and Contemporary Criticism is an academic program aimed at preparing students for further studies at the third stage (Ph.D. level) in the field of modern and contemporary literary criticism. This degree falls within the domain of critical studies. The training in this program aims to enable students to acquire precise knowledge in both ancient and modern Arabic criticism. It also aims to frame their critical knowledge by mastering contextual and textual approaches in their analysis of ancient and modern Arabic literary texts, whether original or translated, and to develop the necessary skills for critical application. The program also aims to open up broader horizons in the field of Arabic literary criticism, which is witnessing significant momentum in our era, by participating in critical writing for media and education. The program culminates with the preparation of a graduation thesis, where students acquire knowledge of scientific research methodology and proficiency in critical terminology and knowledge.
